The Business Analyst Services Consultant (BAS), works as a consultant and advisor to multiple client groups and departments. The BAS develops an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the client’ s business and proactively researches, investigates and elicits requirements to meet the client’ s needs and enhance overall business value. The BAS builds strong rapport with the client and is a trusted business advisor. The BAS applies advanced subject matter business knowledge to solve complex issues with the primary purpose of driving innovation and business transformation. The BAS is required to exercise significant independent judgement within broadly defined policies and practices to determine the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Typical activities include:
  • Working with the client to identify and qualify opportunities to improve the business
  • Eliciting high-level client requirements and performing analysis to assess opportunities in terms of cost savings, improved service levels and increased operational efficiencies
  • Performs current and future state analysis, risk assessments, business design diagrams and flow charts
  • Preparing and delivering concepts and recommendations to executive management and technical staff
  • Authoring Statements of Work and high-level requirements
  • This position is required to have knowledge and skills in the following:
  • Organizational Design and Development methodologies such as:
  • Lean, Six Sigma
  • Total Quality Management
  • Business Process engineering
  • Use cases
  • Principles of Business Analysis (i.e. Business Analysis Body of Knowledge)
  • Principles of Project Management
  • Experience with Enterprise Services Management projects that involve concepts such as:
  • IT Service Management Lifecycle(ITSM): Strategy, Design, Transition and Operations
  • IT Governance, defining, designing and implementing
  • Experience with projects involving business transformation activities such as:
  • Eliciting requirements o Performing research
  • Preparing business cases, calculating Return on Investment (ROI), payback periods, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the following tools:
Workflow tools such as IBM BlueWorks Live and or Visio.
