DevOps Sr. Manager

This DevOps Sr. Manager can wear many hats. They will manage a mature team of DevOps engineers and have a broad skillset, including knowledge of development, operations, security, infrastructure, and support. They will work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems, help automate and streamline operations and processes, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations, and troubleshoot and resolve issues.   The successful candidate will bring a strong sysadmin background with a focus on automation, and innovation in AWS environment and enjoy both managing and playing a on a team in a fast paced, agile, DevOps environment.

Responsibilities:

• Build, develop, and manage a high-performing infrastructure and DevOps team to meet the needs of a rapidly growing and changing business in an even more rapidly changing technology landscape

• Remain current with technological innovations and provide leadership in the maintenance, operational efficiency and future planning of our application offerings

• Develop and nurture strong partnerships across the technology organization and with our key stakeholders across the business

• Develop automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure and scale their applications in AWS, including SLA's, 24x7 monitoring, alerting and return to service

 

Requirements:

• Candidate must have high bandwidth and the ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Bachelor’ s degree required

• 5-7 years of experience in systems or software engineering

• 3+ years of experience in a management role/Leadership

• An understanding of core network protocols and services (HTTP/HTTPS, SFTP, DNS, SSL, firewalls, load balancers)

• Proficiency with Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, CloudFormation, RDS, CloudFront, VPC, Route53, IAM…)

• Understanding of application performance monitoring (Splunk, Nagios, Cacti, New Relic, etc.)

• Strong communication skills, ability to interact with stakeholders, ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
