Information Technology Manager –

Job summary:

The Manager for Information Technology, Communication, and Web services shall have the responsibility of maintaining an interactive integrated information system for academic and administrative technology.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a K-12 information technology manager
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 platform and Azure
  • Appropriate technical certifications are highly recommended
  • Knowledgeable experience with technology, communication and webservices
  • Effective communications skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to analyze data and present findings
  • Bachelor’s Degree

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
  • Attends Board of Education meetings, Participates in Elementary Administrative Meetings and Secondary Administrative Meetings, Conducts department meetings for the IT department and attends bi-weekly Director’s meetings
  • Manages Information Technology Staff
  • Budget & Planning: Prepare and manage annual technology budgets that provide details on all expenditures.
  • Maintain all contracts for services while appropriately vetting all service providers looking for quality service and products at reasonable prices.
  • Renew all software, program and hardware certificates and licenses.
  • Plan, manage, organize, and supervise the district’s Personalized Digital Learning initiative, including but not limited to the following:
  • o Manage inventory in buildings
  • o Update and manage all user agreements and policies.
  • o Organize user agreements and link these agreements to specific devices.
  • o Development and distribution and collection of all user paperwork.
  • o Organize, with principals, parent information nights.
  • o Maintenance of all devices.
  • o Develop an annual distribution/collection system and train personnel on the system.
  • o Preparation of student and parent information packets.
  • o Oversee the purchasing of devices and supplies vetting all products.
  • o Develop a system for the reporting of equipment breakdown and manage all repairs/replacements of devices.
  • o Manage and provide all supplies (cases, ear buds, chargers, etc.).
  • Develop, organize, and supervise the implementation of the District’s Technology Plan with the Executive Director for Instructional Technology, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) K-12. Including but not limited to the following:
  • o Develop, maintain and/or revise current plans considering district needs, State requirements and financial expectations.
  • o Develop a 5-year reinvestment plan for equipment replacement/upgrade, revising the plan as needed.
  • o Develop and coordinate acquisition plans and ensure that technology purchases adhere to the district’s technology plan.
  • o Develop & manage a plan to coordinate, upgrade and/or redesign the use of the district printers.
  • o Develop and maintain an inventory plan of all district computer equipment, supplies and software.
  • LMS (Learning Management Systems) Management. Roster all students for on-line platforms (example: GOMATH, NWEA, etc.).
  • Website and Communications: Responsible for sending out and posting all messages to the community and staff.
  • Manage, monitor & update district website to ensure relevancy of material posted.
  • Manage and update all email lists.
  • Manage and update all Shout Point lists.
  • Manage and update communication lists and databases.
  • Coordinate the ACT meeting schedule with the committee chairperson.
  • Develop, with the Executive Director for Instructional Technology and STEAM (Science, Technology,
  • Engineering, Arts, and Math), a district-wide Instructional Technology Committee comprising of instructional staff members, administrators, and community members. The purpose of this committee is to provide directions for purchasing hardware and software to meet the academic needs of the students.
  • DPO (Data Protection Officer)
  • Ensure that all software and digital programs are Education Law 2-D compliant.
  • Will serve as the District Data Protection Officer.
  • Maintain the DPSS inventory.
  • Network & Hardware: Maintain knowledge of technological advances and advise appropriate personnel.
  • Manage and maintain the security for the interactive integrated information system for academic and administrative technology.
  • Manage and maintain top level District Cybersecurity posture.
  • Oversee the repair/maintenance ticket system for all technology and monitor the reporting of equipment
  • breakdown and service time for providing service and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Manage computer accounts for students and staff districtwide.
  • Assure the efficient and effective operation of all technology and the educational programs they support.
  • Serve as a liaison to the internet provider and monitor the filtering system, network, and provide support to individual schools.
  • Technology Network
  • o Design and implement a technology infrastructure that sets district -wide application softwarestandards.
  • o Design and implement an integrated information system that addresses finance, personnel, payroll, and student records.
  • o Develop service training for administrative computer use.
  • o Assure the efficient and effective operation of all administrative hardware and software including business operation.
  • Other Duties
  • Livestream all Board of Education Meetings
  • Prepares reports and presentations as needed and/or directed
  • Performs other responsibilities as deemed by the Superintendent of Schools or her/his designee
  • Installation of all equipment/devices/software that may impact instruction with principals
  • Policy implementation.
  • Be responsible for all technology depots.
  • Develop a professional development plan and provide annual training opportunities for the technicians.
  • Organize and participate in monthly building technology meetings to discuss services/maintenance/ordering/supplies/building needs/installations/etc. Minutes must be taken, and copies of the minutes provided to the Executive Director for Instructional Technology and STEAM.
  • Manage and maintain Student Management Systems.
  • Manage District ID System.
  • Maintain the District Disaster Recovery Plan.
