Our client in the Lexington, MA, area is looking for a Manufacturing Designer experienced in engineering and materials management for both mechanical and electronic projects using state-of-the-art technology. The group is involved from the initial design through manufacturing, assembly, integration and test, and works with program teams to ensure performance requirements, schedule, and budget are delivered to plan. The group continually investigates innovative fabrication technologies to assess their utility for Laboratory efforts
• Buying/planning fabrication for build-to-print mechanical parts of various materials (aluminum, beryllium, titanium, etc.) and COTS hardware
• Working knowledge of required secondary processes, like plating, chemical film, heat-treating, etc., and mechanical part inspection
• Working knowledge of SAP, SolidWorks, model-based definition (MBD)
