Job Description:
Dimensional Management of a design effort will require working with CAD designers, project design engineers and manufacturing engineers to perform the following activities:
Evaluate the model objectives and provide initial Datum recommendations. Datum revision recommendations will also be provided during the design development maturity process.
Continuous involvement in design reviews to ensure that the Dimensional Management objectives are maintained to minimize redesign through production level drawing / model releases.
Ensure design variation is managed through the engineering design development process to help ensure parts fit and operate properly the first time, at assembly.
Conduct manual tolerance evaluations of subsystem and component designs to ensure design functionality and design variation are considered in design development to ensure vehicle end item operational requirements are met. (VisVSA experience or equivalent a plus)
Direct and monitor the development of the Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing callouts of the models and drawings to ensure compliance with ASME Y14.5M-2009.
Work with manufacturing during the development of the dimensional controls to ensure the objectives of engineering functionality and manufacturing requirements are balanced.
Provide accurate interpretation and application of ASME Y14.5-2009 GD&T standards and dimensional analysis requirements with other design / engineering groups.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / What you must have:
Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of related work experience
High proficiency in interpretation and application of ASME Y 14.5M-2009. Senior GDTP Certification preferred.

Have the ability to work with 2D drawings as well as ability to work in a 3D CAD environment as we transition into engineering digital transformation.
CAD software experience (Creo, NX) desired
Teamcenter experience desired
Working knowledge of manufacturing fabrication, processes and capabilities.
Working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly practices.
Working knowledge of tooling / functional gaging practices.
Knowledge of quality inspection techniques and ability to interpret CMM data.
Knowledge of machine design engineering practices.
Knowledge of material applications.
Microsoft Office Software proficient
