Sr. IT Business Relationship Manager



 

This position will report to the Director of IT Business Management.  The Sr. IT Business Relationship Manager will be responsible for implementing and overseeing programs for the engagement of IT services by lines of business,  management and governance, overseeing the IT portfolio management process, resource management, performance management, process management, and facilitation of all major technology vendors.

The Sr. IT Business Relationship Manager builds relationships and collaboration between leaders and team members across functions. They must have the ability to identify and articulate how IT capabilities can solve business problems and present and discusses technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding. This position works across business lines & vendor partners in meeting business objectives and looks for common expectations across internal and external stakeholder groups.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.

o   Drives the vision & goals for partnership, engagement, and facilitation between departments/ business lines and the technology organization to investigate and fulfill all technology needs for the enterprise

o   Assists with mentoring, coaching, and training Jr. level IT Business Relationship Managers.

o   Facilitates alignment of the business and technology strategic goals

o   Responsible for the application system portfolio management process and ensuring roadmaps are defined for tactical and strategic horizons

o   In conjunction with Enterprise Architecture, drives the implementation of the portfolio lifecycle process and in shaping functional and technical paths to ensure efficient and effective platforms for our clients

o   Provides governance and a process for yearly project planning and oversight for approved projects as well as manages unplanned project requests throughout the year.  This includes working with ELT and Business Owners, the IT Steering Committee, and the IT Architecture Review Board.

o   Plans, facilitates, captures, and manages business requirements to be translated into design, development, and testability

o   Works to determine the gaps between the business needs and what the systems are capable of doing, maintain the scope appropriately

o   Recommends optimized business processes across the full value-stream

o   Facilitates the business to develop use cases, business cases, proof of concept trials, and the creation of high level business requirements to utilize in sourcing systems; Leads the identification of vendors, facilitates due diligence, and contractual arrangements

o   Facilitates partnership meetings with key vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of their delivery, direction, and SLAs to the business needs

o   Develops relationships with key stakeholders to enable the partnered facilitation of technology ownership

o   Directs project requests to the project management office and facilitates request prioritization and tracking with other IT groups for fulfillment

o   Responsible for effective Change Management of IT led projects and changes.  This includes reviewing communications, training plans, delivery schedules, and project plans.

o   Will develop, edit, and maintain written communications, presentations, charters, and other project artifacts as required.

o   Develops a business-value-based IT service portfolio and internalizes distinctions between services, processes, products, and platforms to enable proper fulfillment assignments

o   Defines IT service and operating level agreements for service offerings within the oversight of the position

o   Manages portfolio lifecycle, including service introduction, enhancement, and retirement

o   Participates in governance around changes to IT production environments

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year College or University and ten or more (10+) years prior relevant experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior financial services experience desired. At least 3 years of prior experience in IT Business Relationship Management desired.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
