We are seeking experienced Electrical Designers, Drafters, and Checkers to support the development and production of advanced military ground vehicle systems. This position will support complex defense programs involving highly integrated mechanical structures, vehicle subsystems, electronics, and mission equipment.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing and reviewing detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for complex mechanical systems. Candidates should have a strong understanding of GD&T, manufacturing processes, drawing standards, and configuration management.
Responsibilities- Detailed Drafting & Modeling: Translate conceptual and preliminary engineering designs into fully detailed, manufacturable 3D models and 2D drawing packages.
- TDP Generation: Prepare comprehensive Technical Data Package (TDP) drawings, including Level 3 production documentation, in accordance with MIL-STD-31000 and applicable engineering standards.
- Drawing Checking & Review: Perform detailed reviews of drawings, models, and parts lists created by designers and engineers to ensure accuracy, completeness, proper fit/function, and manufacturability before release.
- Engineering Support: Support engineering teams by executing detailed design tasks for mechanical structures, brackets, enclosures, assemblies, and vehicle subsystems.
- Tolerance Analysis: Apply and verify proper Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and perform tolerance stack-up analyses for complex parts and assemblies.
- Configuration Management: Manage the release, revision, and configuration of engineering documentation through Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Cross-Functional Support: Participate in design reviews and collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems Engineers as well as manufacturing and shop-floor personnel to resolve design and fabrication issues.

- Drawing Standards: Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) and ASME Y14.100 engineering drawing practices.
- Technical Data Packages: Experience developing and/or checking formal production-level TDPs. Knowledge of MIL-STD-31000 strongly preferred.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes, including machining, sheet metal forming, welding, and mechanical assembly.
- Drawing Checking: Experience reviewing engineering drawings, models, BOMs/parts lists, dimensions, tolerances, and design documentation for accuracy and manufacturability.
- Software: Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems. Experience with MagicDraw and Jira is a plus.
- Microsoft Office: Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide constructive technical feedback.
- Work Environment: Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, shop-floor, and office environments.
- Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD), Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is a plus.
- Extensive and highly relevant experience in mechanical drafting, design, and formal drawing checking may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
- Position level will be determined based on the candidate’s education, technical expertise, and relevant industry experience.
