Overview
  • Seeking a highly experienced Lethality / Turret Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead to support our Land Systems engineering team and the Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV) program.
  • This individual will serve as the primary technical authority for turret and lethality integration, leading the Textron IPT/Working Group and interfacing directly with U.S. Government (USG) and U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) stakeholders. The role will have significant responsibility for the platform integration of the Kongsberg 30mm turret and the integration of the Javelin anti-tank guided missile system.
  • The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge of ground combat vehicle lethality systems, strong systems integration experience, and the leadership skills necessary to coordinate government customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities
  • IPT / Working Group Leadership: Serve as the Textron IPT Lead for turret and lethality initiatives, representing the engineering organization during technical exchanges, design reviews, and working groups with USG and USMC stakeholders.
  • Turret & Systems Integration: Lead integration of the 30mm turret architecture with the vehicle platform, ensuring proper integration across mechanical, electrical, power, software, sensor, and data interfaces.
  • Data & Software Integration: Oversee interoperability between turret control systems and the vehicle's broader software, network, and sensor architecture, ensuring secure and effective exchange of critical system data.
  • Javelin Integration: Lead the engineering strategy and cross-functional coordination required to successfully integrate the Javelin missile system, including structural, electrical, software, and system-level considerations.
  • Supplier Management: Serve as the primary technical liaison with the 30mm turret supplier, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA). Lead technical discussions and vendor visits, evaluate technical deliverables, resolve integration issues, and ensure compliance with vehicle interface requirements.
  • Cost & Schedule Management: Serve as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for the lethality and turret integration scope. Manage budgets, schedules, technical performance, risks, and key milestones throughout the PPD phase.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline. Extensive and highly specialized senior-level military experience may be considered in lieu of strict degree requirements.
  • Level IV: 9+ years of relevant engineering or technical experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Level V: 14+ years of relevant engineering or technical experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 12+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience within the defense, ground combat vehicle, or military vehicle industry.
  • Experience with medium-caliber turret systems, remote weapon stations, weapon-system integration, fire-control systems, or vehicle-mounted lethality systems.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle system integration, including mechanical, electrical, software, power, sensor, and data interfaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary technical efforts and coordinate across engineering organizations, suppliers, and customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical and programmatic information to government customers, subcontractors, and senior leadership.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
